James Ganion is an AV Preeminent® defense litigation and transactional partner practicing in California and Arizona. With extensive background knowledge of building design and construction, Mr. Ganion handles all aspects of construction and other real estate disputes, including complex litigation, site accident, mechanic’s lien actions, subrogation, trials, arbitrations (including a 3-week and 5-week arbitration in Arizona), mediations, and homeowner/ HOA disputes. His transactional practice includes evaluation of insurance policies and programs, risk mitigation and management, warranty/customer service practices, and preparation and negotiation of contracts. He also handles general defense work and filing and defending Contractors Board claims in both Arizona and California.
Before his legal career, Mr. Ganion worked for two large residential and commercial developers in Washington state, where he gained first-hand knowledge, initially in the field, and then within the office, of construction and development operations, trades, liability and industry context. He has served as board member and president on three different HOA boards. Mr. Ganion and his wife, who is also a practicing lawyer, have three children. They enjoy cooking, traveling, the beach and mountains, and attending all manner of sporting events.
